Lexie’s Retinol Story

If you’re in your 40’s, you’ve likely seen them. It’s as if they came out of nowhere! One day you had none, the next day some. And the next year a few more.

I’m talking fine lines and wrinkles.

Don’t get me wrong, aging gracefully is a beautiful thing. And it’s so important to embrace the whole YOU—heart, mind, body and soul—wherever you are on the timeline of life and make the most of what you’ve got because YOU’VE GOT IT GOING ON GIRL!

I hope you don’t feel the pressure to mask the experiences that have shaped your beautiful face and body with excess surgical procedures, injectables and makeup. My approach with my clients is to help them glow at every stage of life. I am a huge proponent of:

  • Damage prevention (wear your sunscreen)

  • A basic daily skincare regimen (use quality products).

  • Aesthetic treatments that enhance your natural beauty

Seeing Signs of Aging?

My client, Lexie, just turned 51. She was feeling and seeing signs of aging and wanted to explore what she could do to slow it all down! Before coming to see me, Lexie had never used medical-grade skincare products, didn’t have a regular skincare regimen, and hadn’t heard about retinol.

We sat down together for a Skincare Ed consult. I noted sun damage, some melasma (dark spots), thinning skin and fine to moderate wrinkling. I recommended she start using a retinol-based skincare line and begin skin needling at home and report back 6 months later.

Ladies, I just have to say that a good skincare regimen will never fail you. And it didn’t fail Lexie.

“Amna, I just have to say that the flaking red patches on my chin are gone and when I run my hands over my face, I have a hard time believing it’s MY skin. It feels so smooth and looks so hydrated. The only change I made was using the Environ products and skin needling twice a week! Thank you for coaching me on how to better care for my skin.”

Retinol May Be What Your Skin Needs

If you are like Lexie and experiencing premature aging, it may be time to consider topical Vitamin A. Learn about the two most common topicals—retinoids and retinol—in this post. For Lexie, she felt most comfortable easing into the use of Vitamin A and chose the retinol route. For Lexie, retinol has:

  • Helped improve the appearance of her uneven skin tone.

  • Helped refine her skin’s texture, giving your skin a firmer, radiant appearance.

  • Assisted in reducing and improving the appearance of premature aging and fine lines.

Available in three strengths, allowing you to gradually work your way up to higher concentrations of vitamin A to alleviate possible irritation.

The retinol product I have seen consistent results with is the Environ Concentrated Retinol Serum. It comes in three strengths, allowing you to gradually work your way up to higher concentrations of vitamin A. This helps alleviate any possible irritation. To boost the penetration and effectiveness of the Environ Concentrated Retinol Serum, I recommend the use of Environ’s Cosmetic Roll-CIT.

A regular skin needling routine drastically improves absorption of nourishing skin products and can transform the texture of your skin.

If you are heading into your 40’s, 50’s or 60’s and are feeling and seeing signs of premature aging, book a Skincare Ed session with me and let’s get to the root of your skin’s needs and work together to address them. Looking and feeling your best matters!
